AFD Responds to Braddock Metro Brush Fire

Fire Department says Monday evening blaze isn't considered suspicious.

The Alexandria Fire Department responded to a small brush fire outside on Monday evening.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Metro Transit Police.

“We really just put out the fire for them,” said an AFD spokesperson.

The blaze occurred around 6 p.m. in a line of hedges between the station entrance and its parking lot. AFD suppressed the blaze and handed the investigation over to the Metro Transit Police.

“It was just a brush fire,” said an MTP spokesperson. “It isn’t considered suspicious.”
