Were have all the trees gone?

I'd like to know why so many trees are being cut down in our public places. Not all of them have been diseased. And many of them that have been diseased, had very little diseased areas, which could have been treated and coated, or removed. Is the company that removes diseased trees the same company that determines which trees to remove, perchance?
