Speed and Crosswalks on Mt. Vernon Ave.

Hi Del Ray Neighbors. Anyone else think it's time for some of these on the cross streets of Oxford and Del Ray Avenues along Mt. Vernon?

Totally agree. In my experience even standing off the curb in one of the clearly marked crosswalks it usually takes between 5-10 cars before one actually stops to let me cross.

Agree as well. However, they have these signs in many places along the avenue and they have no effect. They also need to fix the parking situation on the avenue near the intersections. Its impossible for cars to cross or turn on the avenue without sticking into a dangerous intersection. Drivers just can't see! I hate it when drivers honk their horns at people doing this, what are they supposed to do? Should they just blast through the intersection without looking?

I've submitted a "ticket" with the city, so we'll see what happens. Next will be the poorly lit streets!

Surprised the City actually responded. Not surprised by their response… "city no longer provides cross walk signs." But, we can spend millions on the Waterfront project!
