The Ruthanne Lodato funeral is set for Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Braddock Road in Alexandria.

For those who are thinking of sending flowers, the family is requesting that donations instead be made to two local charities: ALIVE! in Alexandria and the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association. Lodato was a longtime music teacher.

Donations to ALIVE! in memory of Ruthanne Lodato will be designated for programs that support women and families who are working to build sustainable futures: the ALIVE! Child Development Center and ALIVE! House for women and children. The address is:
