Carpenter's Shelter Seeks Cereal Donations

Boxes can be dropped off at the N. Henry Street homeless shelter.

Carpenter’s Shelter in Alexandria, the largest single-facility homeless shelter in Northern Virginia, is in need of cereal for its residents.

The N. Henry Street shelter has 80 single beds for men, women and families.

“Our residents eat a breakfast of cereal or oatmeal before they head off to work, school or to go job hunting,” said Liz Salter, the volunteer coordinator at Carpenter’s Shelter. “If donors can pick up a box or two while they are at the grocery store, it helps our residents to start their day off right.”
