Simpson Dog Park Clean up Day

The Del Ray Dog Owners Group (DDOG) is hosting this Clean Up Day.
The Alexandria Animal Welfare League will be present with applications for dog licensing, the City's leash law, and information regarding responsible pet ownership. Alexandria's Park staff will be there with maintenance equipment to assist our volunteers throughout the event.

Attendees will also participate in a short memorial service for long time park user, Arthur Tucker, who passed away unexpectedly over the summer. We will be dedicating a bench to the park in his honor. The bench will contain a memorial plaque that will read, "In memory of our good friend Arthur W. Tucker". The City of Alexandria is providing the memorial bench but we are responsible for the cost of the plaque, which is $200.00. We are asking for donations to go towards the cost of the plaque. Checks can be made to the Alexandria Living Landscape Fund and you can bring it along with you to the clean-up.

Bring shovels, hard rakes, and gloves.

**The park will be closed to the dogs during the event.
