Alexandria Shelter Walk for Homeless Animals

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA) invites animal lovers and their four-legged companions to the Second Annual Alexandria Shelter Walk for Homeless Animals. The 1.5-mile walk through historic Old Town Alexandria raises critical funds to help the AWLA prevent pet overpopulation and curb animal homelessness in Alexandria and throughout the region. The AWLA cares for thousands of animals each year at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, an open-admission facility and Alexandria’s only animal shelter. The Walk supports AWLA programs such as spay/neuter assistance, humane education, behavior and training assistance, and animal adoptions. This is the only walk to benefit Alexandria’s homeless animals and the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter. Walkers are encouraged to form teams or join existing teams, and serve as volunteer fundraisers to further support the AWLA’s mission. Visit www.AlexandriaAnimals.org/Walk to learn more and register.
