Obama last visited the school in May 2012 to deliver a speech that was designed to put pressure on Congress to keep student loan interest rates down.
The upcoming appearance by the president will come just days before Election Day, which is Tuesday.
McAuliffe faces Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's attorney general, and Libertarian Robert Sarvis in the election.
U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican from Kentucky, campaigned with Cuccinelli at a packed event Monday in Fairfax. Cuccinelli will campaign with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Bristow.
One of the most recent polls on the race, out late Monday, shows McAuliffe ahead, with 51 percent to Cuccinelli's 39 percent. The new poll, by the Washington Post/Abt-SRBI, showed Sarvis at 8 percent.
Obama has made many forays into Northern Virginia, making campaign appearances during his own run for president, as well as dining and shopping in the commonwealth.
