DIY Del Ray: A Closer Look at a House and Garden Tour Treasure

Without a doubt, the King house was one of our favorites on the . Well, we loved all the houses, but this one stood out in a special way. Something about its unique and sentimental decorating style, historic significance and artistic charm really made us feel at home.

We recently went back to the house for a private tour with the owner and local artist Barbara King. The King family purchased the home seven years ago. Like many homes in Del Ray, it was originally built for the railroad workers at Potomac Yard.  

Step inside this house and you'll be amazed by repurposed windows and hardware, stained glass accents, creative small-space storage solutions and character galore from antiques and thrift store treasures.
