Twelve Christmas trees decorated by local groups and Del Ray businesses are currently on display along Mount Vernon Avenue.

The Del Ray Business Association is asking folks to cast votes for their favorite tree in its “Miracle on Main Street” promotion on the association’s website. The group or business that receives the most votes for their tree will win a basket of prizes from Del Ray businesses. Voting runs through Dec. 25.

Participating decorators include Cub Scout Pack 135, Students from the Pulley Center, The Christmas Attic, UpCycle CRC and the Del Ray Yarn Bombers, Mount Vernon Community School, Salon Bisoux and more.

“Miracle on Main Street involves more participation from the business community and the residents,” said DRBA President Mellenie Runion. “It is yet another reason to walk in this small neighborhood, visit all 12 trees and experience the true flavor of Mount Vernon Avenue.”

Voting began on Dec. 7.

Have really enjoyed looking at all the decorated trees. Going to be hard to pick just one but I love how so many different businesses and groups got involved.

The 'real' Del Ray Christmas Tree next to the Colasanto. Pool.

Is that the pool that never opens anymore?

That thing needs to be filled in and paved over. Can you imagine what a nightmare that tiny little pool would be if it were ever actually open? There'd be a line of kids down Mt. Vernon to 7-11 waiting for their turn.

I believe the city is looking into filling it. I don't remember precisely. There was a plan to turn it into some sort of interactive fountain, which I am told is different than a spray ground.
