The Del Ray Business Association held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new BB&T branch located in the 1900 block of Mount Vernon Avenue during the First Thursday street festival.
Located next to Fabulous Frocks of Alexandria, the bank opened its doors on April 8. The bank was a sponsor of Thursday's festival.

“As Mount Vernon Avenue continues to grow and expand, it's never a bad thing to see banks continue to be here,” said Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille. “It's a sign of success.”
The branch is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The branch is closed on Sunday. It also includes an enclosed ATM on the corner of Mount Vernon and East Bellefonte avenues.
