Girl Scout Cookie Booth Sales Start Friday

Here's where to buy Girl Scout Cookies in Alexandria this weekend.

Girl Scouts will be selling cookies at several locations and events throughout the city starting this Friday and continuing through March 24.

Many times, dates and locations for cookie sale booths are already set. We've listed several below.

Sales are dependent, in part, on the weather.

Girl Scout cookies are $4 this year. Each Girl Scout troop gets to keep up to 70-cents from every box sold.

I don't buy GS cookies any longer. It's a disgraceful racket operating on the volunteer labor of underage children who otherwise aren't able to work legally. Here's an interesting read: http://www.strangecultureblog.com/2009/01/i-am-horrible-person-saying-no-to-girl.html I don't make this decision lightly, having 3 daughters of my own. I understand the importance of empowering young girls ans building their esteem but this just isn't the right way.
