Dominion Virginia Power crews went to New Jersey this weekend to help restore power to those who are in the cold and dark following Friday and Saturday’s major Northeast blizzard.
as the storm left the area. Snow fell from Philadelphia to Maine, leaving more than 600,000 people without power by the time the last flakes fell.
Crews from Virginia left Friday morning in bucket trucks headed for Morristown, N.J. — an area hit hard by Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Morristown was not hit nearly as hard as areas of New England, and New Jersey Power and Light sent the Virginia crews back home late Saturday.
Crews were ready to be up there for two weeks.
