Construction of Bell Del Ray Continues Along Monroe Avenue

Five-story, 276-unit luxury apartment complex expects to be completed by the second quarter of 2014.

Construction of a five-story, 276-unit luxury apartment complex titled Bell Del Ray by developer Woodfield Investments continues near the corner of E. Monroe Avenue and Main Line Boulevard.

Crews began work on a parking garage for the complex in November. At the time, project planners were aiming to complete a six-level (one level below grade), 368-space parking garage by May 2013.

According to the Woodfield Investments website, the residential units—70 percent of which will be one-bedroom—will be completed by the second quarter of 2014.

The apartments will be constructed around the garage, shielding it from view from the street. The complex will include a courtyard swimming pool, outdoor fireplaces, fitness room, club room and theater room.

The complex will also include 3,500 square feet of retail space. Planners said in October 2012 they did not anticipate the retail space to house a restaurant but instead an amenity for residents.

Bell Partners will manage the project upon completion.

Construction work continues between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Work is not permitted on Sundays.

A 1-acre dog park is to be built just west of the Bell Del Ray complex. A Dominion Power substation is planned for just west of the dog park, next to Swing's Coffee.

Pulte Homes is constructing a series of townhomes and urban lofts to the south of the Bell Del Ray along Main Line Boulevard.
