Although the George Washington Birthday Parade in Old Town Alexandria has passed, many local groups are celebrating Washington’s birthday throughout this month.

Walking with Washington

  • Why go: There are dozens and dozens of places in Old Town associated with George Washington—here’s your chance to learn about some of them and impress your out-of-town visitors with your local history knowledge.

George Washington and Religion: Private Man and Public Issues

  • When/Where: 1 – 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 at the George Washington Masonic Memorial, 101 Callahan Drive.
  • Why go: A free, educational symposium on Washington’s life and the role of religion in it. Sponsored by the Freemasons as part of Washington’s birthday celebration.

Acoustic Blues Night
