The Torpedo Factory is hosting its annual, free Alexandria Arts Safari on Saturday designed for kids five and up.
Kids and families can enjoy activities such as painting, clay, fiber art, block printing, fabric collage and helping create a giant papier-mache animal, which will live at the art center year-round.
The free event runs from noon to 4 p.m.
The Art League is participating with a Gallery Scavenger Hunt. The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, which is housed in the Torpedo Factory, is on hand to teach kids about 19th Century potters.
The event coincides with American Craft Week, celebrated Oct. 5 through Oct. 14 this year, recognizing makers, retailers, collectors and exhibitors of handmade crafts.
