When Will Streets be Plowed in Del Ray?

City officials urge residents to stay off the roads.

City officials said Thursday that crews are working to clear snow emergency and primary routes of Alexandria and that residential areas may not see plows until late Friday or even Saturday.

Residents are being urged to stay off roads. 

"Residents and businesses can help by not parking on posted snow emergency routes,promptly clearing sidewalks and entrancesnot shoveling snow into the street, and clearing snow from around fire hydrants and storm drains," city officials said in a news release.

City of Alexandria government offices and facilities are closed and there will be no recycling or refuse collection service today, Thursday.
