Litter Enforcement Month is part of the Alice Ferguson Foundation’s Trash Free Potomac Watershed Initiative, which supports local law officers as they dedicate one month to vigorously enforce litter, illegal dumping and unsecured truck load laws. The TFPWI is a region-wide effort, spearheaded by the Alice Ferguson Foundation, to raise awareness of the issues caused by and related to litter, illegal dumping and related crimes.

Residents are urged to partner with the Police Department, Sheriff’s Office and Code Administration Department to discourage littering while working toward changing behaviors that contribute to making Alexandria less attractive and less healthy.
