Neighborhood Survey is Underway

DRCA seeking views and opinions from members and nonmembers

In the eight-plus months since this site launched, one thing has proved certain: You all have opinions about the neighborhood. A trip to a City Council hearing will reveal just as much.

The Del Ray Citizens Association is doing its part to compile your views and ideas with its new neighborhood survey. It is free and open to anyone.

DRCA officers plan to use the results as a guide to help better serve and represent the interests of Del Ray as well as to find out the shared interests of members and nonmembers.

The survey contains a lot of questions specific to DRCA membership (how it functions and operates). Nonmembers are asked to skip these questions and answer those with a broader neighborhood focus.

The survey is available online by clicking here.

The survey contains a multitude of multiple-choice questions with room provided for comments and explanations. It is also lengthy; organizers said the multiple-choice questions alone should take about 25 minutes to complete. Users can stop and return to the survey at a later time. Once a survey is complete and submitted, it can no longer be accessed.

Survey questions include:

  • Would you support metered parking along Mt. Vernon Avenue?
  • Are there any intersections that you find dangerous, as a driver or pedestrian, in Del Ray?
  • For restaurants and bars, what do you think the closing time should be?
  • Would you like to see retail stores open later on the Avenue?
  • What are your experiences with street parking at your home in Del Ray?

There are also questions pertaining to the status of neighborhood parks, schools, traffic and volunteering.

No end date is currently set for the survey.
