Metro Shutting Down Entire Yellow Line This Weekend

Metro will perform annual inspection of Yellow Line Potomac River Bridge.

Metro will suspend service on the entire Yellow Line from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 through system close on Sunday, Nov. 17 for an annual inspection of the line’s Potomac River Bridge.

Metro is advising riders to use the Blue Line as an alternative for service to and from Virginia stations.

Metro will run a special shuttle train every 10 minutes between Huntington and Braddock Road stations only, allowing passengers traveling to and from Huntington or Eisenhower Avenue stations to transfer to or from Blue Line service at Braddock Road.

Metro is telling passengers traveling to Virginia from Green Line stations north of L'Enfant Plaza to transfer to the Red Line at Gallery Place or Fort Totten, then ride to Metro Center and transfer a Blue Line train toward Franconia-Springfield.  

There is no Green Line service between Archives and Navy Yard stations this weekend, including L'Enfant Plaza station.
