Harris also founded the One Love Festival, an annual festival initiated for the purpose of bringing people together in unity and love to foster positivity and self-empowerment. He was involved in many grassroots programs for more than 25 years, sat on several committees for community and social development, and supported many programs for youth which were successful due to his personal touch with the community.

Harris went missing on Sept. 21, 2011. His body was discovered months later in a well in Prince George’s County, Md. Three men were arrested in connection with Harris’ murder, which was the result of a robbery.
