The weather warmed up a bit this week and it's about just right for a nature hike. Here are five places you can go exploring with your child:
1. Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center, 5750 Sanger Avenue. Park in the parking lot at the nature center and take the steps down to the trail. The creek is perfect for birdwatching and looking for critters and creepy-crawly things.
2. Winkler Botanical Preserve, 5400 Roanoke Avenue, just off Beauregard Street. Enjoy a manmade lake and waterfall, trails, a stream and even a “hobbit house."
