DRCA Meeting to Focus on Alexandria's Budget Process

The public is welcome to January’s general membership meeting of the Del Ray Citizens Association, which will include a discussion of the city’s budget for fiscal year 2015.

The meeting, to be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at the Reingold office (433 E. Monroe Ave.), will include a presentation from Nelsie Smith, Alexandria’s director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Deputy City Manager Debra Collins. The pair will offer some insights into the city’s budget process, including projected gaps, funding for schools and public safety and much more.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for refreshments and time to meet and greet with neighbors.

The DRCA is currently seeking a new secretary. The volunteer job’s primary duty calls for taking minutes at meetings.
