Docents Needed for DRCA House and Garden Tour

Biannual event is scheduled for May 19.

The Del Ray Citizens Association is looking for volunteer docents for the May 19 neighborhood House and Garden Tour.

Docents are expected to “provide a visual presence, answer questions and highlight home features,” according to an email from DRCA Treasurer David Fromm.

Shifts are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 to 3 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m.

Docents will receive a complimentary ticket to the 12-home tour.

The biannual event raises money for the DRCA that will be used toward scholarship funds for rising college students as well as for landscaping at the located at the corner of Commonwealth and E. Del Ray avenues.

Those interested in volunteering or seeking more information about docent duties are encouraged to contact Mary Maginniss at HouseGardenTour2012@delraycitizen.net. Volunteers are asked to supply a phone number for the day of the tour and any preferences they might have.

Advance tickets can be purchased for $15 on the DRCA website. Tickets are $20 apiece the day of the tour.
