Del Ray Farmers' Market Taking One-Week Hiatus

Market will not be held Saturday because of the Art on the Avenue festival.

The Del Ray Farmers' Market is getting furloughed.

The market will not be held Saturday, Oct. 5 because of the Art on the Avenue festival, which will be run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray.

Pat Miller, market master and chief organizer of Art on the Avenue, said some of the market’s regular prepared-food vendors will be selling snacks at Saturday’s festival instead.

The Del Ray Farmers' Market will resume Oct. 12.

If you’re in need of produce or other goodies this weekend, the Old Town Farmers' Market will be held as scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday in Market Square. On Sunday, the Four Mile Run Farmers and Artisans Market in Arlandria will run from 8 a.m. to noon, while the West End Farmers' Market in Ben Brenman Park will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m
