Art on the Avenue Organizers Seeking Scarecrow Material Donations

Festival will be held rain or shine on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Organizers of Saturday’s Art on the Avenue are seeking old clothing for scarecrow making at the Kids Art Korner section of the daylong festival.

Items needed include shirts, tops with long sleeves, long-legged pants and hats. Any accessories are also welcome, including vests, ties and scarves.

Items can be dropped off at A Show of Hands, located at 2301 Mt. Vernon Ave. The shop is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday this week.

The Kids Art Korner, which will be positioned in the field next to Mount Vernon Recreation Center, will include other activities including pop art, creating sock puppets and pumpkin painting. 

Saturday’s festival will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along Mount Vernon Avenue. For more information, check out the Art on the Avenue website.
