Saint Rita School has the "write" stuff
Saint Rita principal, Mrs. Schlickenmaier was overjoyed on Friday to deliver the exciting news to fourth grade teacher, Sister Theresa Mc Crossan,S.S.J., that Saint Rita School has not one but two State Grade – Level Winners in the Zaner- Bloser National Handwriting Contest!
Fourth grader, Esmeralda Chavez and Fifth grader, Emma Prabaharan . Both girls have perfected their skill under the patience and guidance of Sister Terry, as she is known by all. Sister Terry has been teaching penmanship for many years at Saint Rita. Her classroom is filled with classical music as her students practice their size, shape, spacing and slant starting in third grade.
It is estimated that over 300,000 students participated in this year’s contest! As State Level Champions both girls are now eligible to compete for the National Champion Title. We wish them good luck in the next round.
