Trivia Night, Banana Love and a Blood Drive

Trivia Night — Fireflies Restaurant (1501 Mount Vernon Ave.) hosts its trivia night beginning at 8 p.m. Reservations are recommended and can be placed by calling 703-758-7200.

Craft Social — Del Ray Artisans (2704 Mount Vernon Ave.) is hosting a craft night social from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening is open to all who knit, crochet, sew, scrapbook, make cards or jewelry, or any other fiber, paper or general craft that does not involve wet media other than glue. The three-hour session is $8 for Del Ray Artisans members and $10 for non-members. Registration required. More information on the DRA website.

Banana Lover’s Day — The average person eats about 33 pounds of bananas a year. That’s more than 100 bananas per person. Are you above or below the average?

Help the Red Cross — The Alexandria Chapter House of the American Red Cross (123 North Alfred St.) is hosting a blood drive from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Donors will receive coupons for free items from Dunkin’ Donuts.

Restaurant Week — This citywide event offers up many dining opportunities through Sunday, Sept. 1. Participating restaurants serve a $35 dinner for two or a $35 three-course fixed-price meal. See the restaurant week website for more information on participating restaurants.
