Hitchcock at Duncan, Not-So-Modern Jazz and Anything Goes

Plus, read to your dog and a Super Group.

Plenty of live music and interesting things this Thursday in the Del Ray area. So let’s get to them:

Hitchcock at Duncan — The Friends of Duncan Library will present a free screening of an Alfred Hitchcock film at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Duncan Branch (2501 Commonwealth Ave.) After the show, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub (2300 Mount Vernon Ave.) will host attendees for a discussion of the movie. Just guessing here, but the discussion will likely be, um, suspenseful.

Super Group — Watch this local three-piece band work its way through classic and modern rock covers along with Blues, soul and R&B tunes beginning at 8 p.m. in the Evening Star Cafe's No. 9 Lounge (2000 Mount Vernon Ave.). Consider stopping by The Front Porch beforehand.
