Port City Brewing Two Tap — Since it’s “TWOsday,” Port City Brewing Co. (3950 Wheeler Ave.) will be tapping a brewer's reserve of Two, the company’s second-anniversary beer at 5 p.m. in the tasting room. Available while supplies last.

National Filet Mignon Day — This medium-rare holiday is celebrated today. Why not hop in Let’s Meat on The Avenue (2403 Mount Vernon Ave.) and pick up some beef tenderloin to grill at home?

Commission on Women — The Alexandria Commission for Women, whose members provide advice and consultation to City Council on issues concerning women, meets at 8:15 a.m. at Swing’s Coffee (501 E. Monroe Ave.).

Trivia NightFireflies Restaurant (located at 1501 Mount Vernon Ave.) hosts its trivia night beginning at 8 p.m. Reservations are recommended and can be placed by calling 703-748-7200. 

RIP — George Duke, a prolific piano and synth player with recording credits with Michael Jackson, Frank Zappa and Miles Davis, was scheduled to perform tonight at The Birchmere. Duke passed away last week, but his music lives on. Here is Duke’s Washington Post obituary and a clip of him performing his 1978 funk-out “Dukey Stick.”
