Mount Vernon Community School (Kindergarten through fifth grade) operates on a modified school calendar and divides the typical summer break into several smaller breaks throughout the year. 

MVCS offers several one- or two-week sessions, referred to as intersessions, where students can return to additional support or enrichment activities like sailing, language or dance classes. Families can choose to opt out of MVCS and children will be relocated to the nearest school if there is space, and transportation will be provided.
