St. Andrew & St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Catholic Church is holding a Kirkin of the Tartan and Evening Prayer service on Friday November 30 at 7:30 PM. November 30 is St. Andrew's Day. St. Andrew, one of Jesus' 12 disciples, is the Patron Saint of Scotland. The service will include a blessing of Scottish tartans, a bagpiper, and Scottish music. It will be followed by a reception with Scottish foods and beverages. The church is located at 402 E. Created in 1996 following the merger of two Anglican parishes, St. Andrew & St. Margaret of Scotland keeps a strong emphasis on historic views of faith and order. The church uses the 1928 Book of Common Prayer and the King James Bible in the holy communion services it offers three times on Sundays and at noon on Wednesdays. The warm and close-knit parish offers choir and youth programs, child care (during the 9am and 11:15am Sunday services) and Bible study groups.
