Many of our neighbors are at risk regarding meeting basic needs, including personal care products and emergency preparedness items. You can help by:

1. filling a shoebox with items like toothbrushes, socks and soap;
2. decorating the shoebox; and
3. submitting a photo of the shoebox to the United Way Shoebox Project Decorating Contest.

By entering the United Way Shoebox Project Decorating Contest, you have a chance to win great prizes such as a Nook Simple Touch or a night stay at the Lorien Hotel and Spa in Old Town Alexandria. Details at: www.TheDelRayArtisans.org/shoebox.

Come to the Decorating Party at the Gallery on Thursday, May 17, 6-8 pm

Bring your filled shoebox and imagination. Del Ray Artisans will have papers, glue, tape, stamps, and other embellishments to help you complete your look. Feel free to bring other decorating materials as well. All are welcome to attend and participate.

If you can not attend the party, but wish to donate decorated shoeboxes or misc supplies, just drop off filled shoeboxes at the gallery by May 24. Del Ray Artisans will deliver the shoeboxes to the United Way on May 25.
