callingmary was formed after singer and guitarist Gretchen Purser called Mary Bowers to help put on a benefit show for the homeless. Mary asked her brother Tim Casey to join in and after the first rehearsal they knew they had something worth pursuing. They share ease and synchronicity of three part harmonies and commonality of musical style and taste. callingmary performs as a trio in smaller venues and with the recent addition of Gary Crockett on drums and Scott Freeman on bass, they perform as a full band whenever possible. Their repertoire consists of original music along with a well-chosen mix of classic and contemporary covers.
