Q: Can your wrongful conduct result in both criminal charges and a civil lawsuit against you seeking monetary damages?
A: Yes. A police officer in the Town of Culpeper, Va., was charged with murder, malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, maliciously shooting into an occupied vehicle resulting in a death and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The unarmed occupant that was killed was shot multiple times while sitting in the parking lot of a Catholic school. A $5 million dollar civil wrongful death case has been filed against the officer.

Hmm, I didn't know that cops can be charged for murder. Thanks for letting me know! This is only your second article and already I've learned a good amount about personal liability. Looking forward to future articles!
