Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey: Fully Charged
- Where: GMU Patriot Center, Fairfax
- When: Multiple show times now through April 15
- Why Go: Nothing beats the spectacle of "The Greatest Show on Earth." Don’t miss your chance to see daring stunts, animal acts and, of course, the circus clowns.
- Price: Tickets range from $10 to $90.
Children’s Cherry Blossom Celebration
- Where: Green Spring Gardens, Annandale
- When: Friday, noon to 4 p.m.
- Why Go: Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Gift of the Cherry Trees, you’ll enjoy activities such as origami and searching for cherry blossoms in the gardens. For ages 3 and up.
- Price: $6 to $8 per person. Registration required.
- Where: Lazy Susan Dinner Theater, Lorton
- When: Evening and matinee performances now through July 8
- Why Go: Enjoy cocktails and a dinner buffet, followed by this popular musical stage comedy.
- Price: $41.95 for ages 16 and up weekdays and Sundays; $44.95 for ages 16 and up Saturdays; $35 for youth ages 11-15; $25 for children 10 and under.
The Mason Players present: "The Life of Galileo"
- Where: GMU Center for the Arts, Fairfax
- When: Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.
- Why Go: A dramatic portrayal of the life of “The Father of Modern Science." Co-produced with Theater of the First Amendment.
- Price: Tickets range from $15 to $20; half price tickets available for students.
Cleanup Project at Meadowood Recreation Area
- Where: Meadowood Trailhead, Lorton
- When: Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
- Why Go: Volunteers are needed to clear out old dumping sites along the trails. Please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes; gloves will be provided. Light refreshments offered courtesy of the Mason Neck Lions Club.
- Where: Green Spring Gardens, Annandale
- When: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Why Go: Local growers will be selling a variety of shrubs, flowers and plants for your yard and garden. Green Spring Master Gardeners will also be on hand to offer professional gardening advice.
- Price: FREE.
Studio 3 Theatre for Young Audiences presents: "Home"
- Where: Workhouse Arts Center, Lorton
- When: Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. through May 5
- Why Go: This imaginative production uses music and puppetry to tell the story of two travelers searching for a home. Suitable for ages 3 and up.
- Price: $12 for adults; $8 for kids under 12.

- Egg Hunt at South Run RECenter, Springfield. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. For ages 1 through 8. $10 per child; registration required.
- Easter Egg Hunt at Franconia United Methodist Church, Alexandria. Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. For ages 2 to sixth grade. FREE.
- Easter Egg Hunt at Mason District Park, Annandale. Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon. For ages 1 to 9. $7 to $9 per child. Registration required.
- Eggstravaganza at Gum Springs Community Center, Alexandria. Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. For ages 2 to 12. FREE.
- Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Alexandria. Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. FREE.
- Easter Service and Egg Hunt at St. James’ Episcopal Church, Alexandria. Sunday from 10:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. FREE.
- Easter Flowering of the Cross and Egg Hunt at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Alexandria. Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. FREE.
- Easter Egg Hunt at Pohick Church, Lorton. Sunday at 10:30 a.m. FREE.
Nature Programs:

- Sunday Morning Bird Walk at Belle Haven Park and Marina, Alexandria. Sunday at 8 a.m. FREE.
- Fresh Water Ecology at Mason Neck State Park, Lorton. Sunday at 11 a.m. Parking fee is $4.

I just spoke with Bob Cameron and he says the Tartan Day event was canceled a few months ago. There will be no Tartan Day event tomorrow in Alexandria.
