1. As part of the sesquicentennial celebration of the Civil War, Fort Ward Museum Hosts Civil War Spotlight Talk on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
2. The City of Alexandria will host its Earth Day Celebration on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ben Brenman Park.
3. Saturday is National Drug Take Back Day. You can bring your unused, old and expired prescriptions to the George Washington Masonic National Memorial from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
4. The ParkFairfax Native Plant Sale will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3601 Valley Drive.
5. There are several opportunities to volunteer or attend a benefit this weekend:
- National Rebuilding Day will be held on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Alexandria.
- Day of Service: Adopt-A-Block, on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at 1100 Wythe St.
- The 13th annual Brunch Benefiting Inova Alexandria Hospital will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Union Street Public House.
- The ninth annual Carpenter's Chili Cook-Off will be held Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. at The Birchmere.
- Step ALIVE! Walkathon will start at 2 p.m. Sunday at 2723 King St.
