Two robbery incident involving guns were recently reported in Del Ray.

An attempted gunpoint robbery was reported the evening of Jan. 14 in the 500 block of E. Windsor Avenue.

A male victim, who was soliciting for a local environmental nonprofit group, reported a vehicle pulling up to where he was standing around 6:26 p.m.

A passenger in the vehicle pointed a gun at the victim and asked for his phone, wallet and satchel, according to information filed by the Alexandria Police Department on crimereports.com.

The intended robbers left the scene when another vehicle appeared in the area. They did not take anything from the victim. 

On Jan. 15, a gunpoint robbery was reported at 9:20 p.m. in the 2600 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

A female victim reported an unknown suspect robbed her unidentified business by pointing a gun at the victim and demanding that she open the cash register, according to information filed by the Alexandria Police Department on crimereports.com.

The victim opened the register and the suspect grabbed the cash and left the scene.

On Monday evening, a laptop, iPad and more than $300 in cash was stolen from the Happy Tart in the 2300 block of Mount Vernon Avenue during a break-in.
