This Week's Weather: Warm, Then Colder by Midweek

The Northern Virginia area will see unseasonably warm temperatures early in the week.

The calendar says December, but in Northern Virginia early this week temperatures will feel more like spring.

The area will see warmer-than-usual temperatures at the start of the week—in the high 60s—according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures Monday and Tuesday are expected to reach 67 degrees, 20 degrees warmer than the average high of 47 degrees. By Wednesday, temperatures will start to descend, hitting 57 degrees for a high.

By Thursday, it'll be time to bundle up, with highs reaching 47 degrees.

The week will be partly cloudy, with the sunniest day forecast to be Thursday.

Temperatures will start to climb again, getting into the 50s on Friday and Saturday. Chances for rain increase to 30 percent for both days, according to the National Weather Service.
