The Bare Naked Truth
New columnist Danny Barefoot introduces himself and gives an overview of what his column will focus on.
My name is Danny Barefoot and this is the introduction to my new column, The Bare Naked Truth.
I hope to give a unique perspective on local, state and national politics and how it affects us in Del Ray, Alexandria and Virginia. I will also offer the occasional movie or book review, a random rant, a profile of a Del Ray home, but mostly a straight up, honest and unflinching analysis of the things that affect us most here at home.
I won’t be afraid to tell you that it is actually a pretty small group of loud angry people keeping Alexandria from having an awesome waterfront (or at least something better than the beautiful err… abandoned building) or that I just recently watched "The Big Lebowski" for this first time and actually thought it sucked pretty bad.
Because I work in Del Ray at Englin Consulting, LLC, and work with an array of political and advocacy clients, I will try and always give a disclaimer when writing about something involving a client, which may happen a time or two in the next month as the Democratic primary for the 30th State Senate District heats up, but less so after that is over on Aug. 23.
I write only in the capacity of the writer of this column and do not represent any client, my place of employment, an elected official, small puppy, community leader, business or family member.
I hope you will stop by and check out what I have to say every Tuesday and Friday; I’ll try not to bore you.
Have something interesting you want to say about Del Ray and need someone to help you find the best way to say it or investigate? Shoot me an email at barefootrd@gmail.com.

You lost me on your nihilistic Lebowski comment.

Looking forward to the column! Are you a neighbor as well as working in Del Ray?
