Sierra Club Endorses Krupicka

Club says voters who care about the environment should vote for Rob Krupicka.

State delegate candidate Rob Krupicka picked up an endorsement from the Sierra Club on Tuesday.

The Sierra Club endorsement comes a week before the Special Election on Sept. 4 for a delegate to represent the 45th District, which represents Alexandria as well as parts of Fairfax and Arlington counties.

“Rob Krupicka has been a champion on environmental and clean energy issues while on the Alexandria City Council; just the kind of leadership we need in the Virginia General Assembly," said Glen Besa, director of the Virginia Chapter of Sierra Club. "Our local Sierra Club activists have worked closely with Mr. Krupicka on a number of environmental initiatives including the retirement of GenOn’s Potomac River coal plant slated to close later this year.”

In a statement, Besa urged the group's 400-plus members in the district to vote for Krupicka.

“...If you are a voter and you care about the environment, Rob Krupicka is the candidate for you," he said.
