The minds behind the Pork Barrel BBQ company, which will open its first restaurant in Del Ray (we’ve been told) relatively soon, have concocted an idea so audacious, well, we’ll just let the press release speak for itself:

“It is with great pride that we announce to the world the debut of Que, the world’s first fragrance blend of barbeque's essential aromas. Que is an intoxicating bouquet of spices, smoke, meat and sweet summer sweat that is sure to become a hit among all fragrance lovers!

“Recognizing the absence of a barbeque-scented cologne and perfume, we worked with a team of craftsmen and fine perfumers to create the perfect barbeque aroma and believe Que has the potential to change the way the fragrance world operates in the future.”

The idea got us thinking: Is there an aroma produced in other Del Ray businesses that strikes a particular chord with you? Would you consider bottling this aroma and wearing it? Perhaps the odor of coffee at St. Elmo's? Maybe the smell of bread coming from the Gold Crust Bakery (which finally has its "for lease" sign up, by the way)? What about the farmers market?
