Update: Police Identify Woman Killed at King Street Metro Station
Victim pronounced dead at hospital
Toni Taylor, 25, from Prince George's County, Md., was killed during Friday's evening rush hour after being struck by a van at King Street Metro Station.
The police are asking that anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have additional information about the case to call the Alexandria Police Department at 703-838-4444.
According to the police department, the driver of the van was coming through the parking lot when it struck the woman shortly after 6 p.m. The vehicle was a dark blue unmarked van. Emergency response teams immediately reported to the scene.
The victim was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital, according to police. Additional information will be available after the city's crash reconstruction team conducts further investigation of the accident, Alexandria Police spokeswoman Ashley Hildebrandt told Patch.
The driver of the van stayed at the scene and the city's crash reconstruction team "will determine what charges, if any, will be filed," Hildebrandt said.

So sad. Condolences to her family. I almost hit someone at that same location! That corner is extremely dangerous especially when the sun is setting because the sun is in your eyes and you can't see a darn thing. The bushes there don't help the visibility because you can't see when you're coming around the corner. Metro really needs to do something about that corner.
