What makes Del Ray a fun place to live? Well, people have some awesome stuff in their yards.

That’s maybe not high on everyone’s list of what makes Del Ray cool, but we like quirky.

Two of our favorites are a mosquito sculpture hanging from a porch in the 100 block of W. Howell Avenue and a hippopotamus lawn sculpture on Adams Avenue near its intersection with Mt. Vernon Avenue.

There’s also poetry fences, funny signs (more of this on Monday) and that house in the 2500 block of Dewitt Avenue that unfurls a different flag on its porch almost every single day.

What are some of your favorite quirky things in Del Ray? Tell us in the comments section.
