New Plans for La Strada
Rosmeri Espinoza of Pines of Florence files permit application to take ownership of business.
Rosmeri Espinoza, who has worked at Pines of Florence on King Street for the past decade, has filed an application with the city to take ownership at La Strada on Mount Vernon Avenue.
According to the application, the restaurant will be renamed Rosemarino D’Italia.
La Strada, located at 1905 Mount Vernon Ave., closed its doors on Dec. 31. Family health issues and business shortfalls prompted the decision to close the Italian restaurant, according to Courtney Scott, daughter of owner Stephen Scott.

Their food is awful and won't compare to La Strada. If you want La Strada's homemade authentic Italian food go next door at Osteria. The chef and owner is the same as (what was) La Strada and they've moved all their menu items from La Strada to Osteria. I won't step foot in the Pines of Florence. I'll be going Osteria if I want quality Italian.

I think it is quite obvious that it is not going to be a Pine of Florence. She worked there, meaning she knows how to run a restaurant. Lets see what the chef can do...

Pines of Florence has great red sauce, good lasagna. Good manicotti. It's the kind of Italian food you find Italian neighborhoods.

If this is the Pines of Florence in Old Town than their food was God awful. Like- how can they have possibly stayed open-God Awful. They must own the building outright and only have taxes as over head. No way were they doing enough business to support payment of market-rate rent on King street.
That said, I really hope the new chef does well and I wish her all the best. It's got to be a really exciting time for her.
