Neighborhood Pharmacy Wins Heart of Del Ray Award

Stacey Swartz presented with giant cardboard heart from Del Ray Business Association.

The Neighborhood Pharmacy of Del Ray was presented with the Del Ray Business Association’s Heart of Del Ray award on Monday morning.

Stacey Swartz was presented the award by DRBA officer Gayle Reuter and realtor Bobi Bomar, last year’s winner.

“It’s super exciting,” Swartz said about the award. “It’s just so nice to be in a wonderful community with so many great businesses. This really is a great thing to start the day with.”

The award is given annually around Valentine's Day to the business that best demonstrates a warm and welcoming attitude to customers, shows generosity and commitment to the community and contributes to making Del Ray a great place to live, work and shop.

Citizens were asked to vote for their favorite business on a list of five nominees. The other businesses included Greener Cleaner of Del Ray, Pork Barrel BBQ, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub and Taqueria Poblano.

Reuter said the DRBA received several hundred votes for the award.

“There are so many good people in this community,” Swartz said. “It was just nice to be on that list.”

The Neighborhood Pharmacy has been a great help to it's customers. It's so nice to walk into a pharmacy where the pharmacist and staff knows your name, and takes the time to educate you and treat you with respect and heart. They deserve this award and many others.

Stacey and The Neighborhood Pharmacy are just the best things to have happened to Del Ray in a long time. Especially cool (for me anyway) that the win occurred on my birthday. Go Stacey! Seriously, if you have ne er dealt with anything other than chain drugstores, you have no idea what a truly full service pharmacy can do for you.
