MVCS PTA Fundraiser Brings in More Than $22,000

PTA still hopes to reach fundraising goal for technology and literacy needs.

The Mount Vernon Community School PTA’s Fabulous Fall Fundraiser held Nov. 3 generated $22,750 to be used toward the school’s technology and literacy wish list.

The total cost of the items on the wish list is $25,000 and the PTA is looking to make up the difference through donations.

Donations can be made through the MVCS PTA website or by dropping off a check made out to the MVCS PTA. Checks can be left in the PTA mailbox in the school’s office.

Last year, the fall fundraiser raised $19,000 for technology and literacy education needs.

This is absolutely amazing to have a school community this involved, this dedicated and this generous to raise almost $23,000 at a single event. Congratulations to all those involved in organizing, volunteering, sponsoring and attending. Hats off to Joe & Christi Hart for hosting and while I don't know all the sponsors, I know Jen Walker made sure everyone she knew either donated or bought a ticket. And then to top it off, it was a REALLY, REALLY fun evening for everyone who attended. Congratulations!
