Elmer Roehrs' widow speaks with several TV news crews.

Additional information about the murder of 94-year-old Elmer “Joe” Roehrs, found dead Wednesday in his Holly Street home, has come forward through various television media reports.

See: Roehrs’ Death Ruled a Homicide.

Patch reported Friday that Marie Maybell Johnson, arrested Thursday morning for a November 2012 burglary at Roehrs’ home, is likely to be charged with Roehrs’ murder.

NBC 4 reports that Johnson was the only person seen on security cameras entering and leaving Roehrs’ Holly Street home the day of the murder. The home has a history of break-ins and Roehrs and his family installed the cameras at the house after it became a frequent target.

An Alexandria police investigation into the murder is ongoing.

Marian Bouk, Roehrs’ wife, spoke with several television reporters, as did another family member. Bouk called the situation "unreal" in an NBC 4 report.

WJLA 7 reports Roehrs earned a Purple Heart while serving in World War II. Roehrs and Bouk, married later in life, would have celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary in July.
