In the letter sent to Ruth Goldway dated Sept. 16, Moran argued the “theoretical savings generated by closing the facility do not justify the costs to the community that would result from a closure.”

“The office is an important pillar of the tight-knit, livable, walkable community that the residents of Del Ray have built,” Moran wrote. “This is a growing community and the construction of large-scale residential developments at Potomac Yard will only increase the need for the Mt. Vernon Avenue facility. It also provides critical services to a number area small businesses and entrepreneurs.”
