Holiday Volunteering: Christ House

Christ House provides food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless and clothing to those in need.

The holiday season is here and that means Alexandria communities seek volunteers for many and different causes.

The Alexandria Patches are highlighting good causes seeking volunteers during this holiday season. If you'd like your initiative to be featured, please email sharon.mcloone@patch.com.

This week's volunteer spotlight shines on:

Who: Christ House

What: Manage or otherwise help at the Thrift Shop

When: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Christ House Thrift Shop, 125 S. West St., Alexandria, VA 22314

Why: Founded in 1973, Christ House provides food to the hungry, shelter to the homeless and clothing to those in need.
